Use any beans you want. Serve it as a side, stuff into tacos, pile onto nachos. Lasts for days – think meal prep and work lunches! Cowboy Bean Salad “Bean Salad” just sounds so dull. But stick the word “Cowboy” in front of it, and suddenly it sounds so much more exciting. Right? Same dish, different packaging. Age old marketing trick! 😂 Though actually, this is a riff on a salsa dish known as Cowboy Caviar in the US....
Find the recipe on page 67 of Dinner. I’m not just doing this to torture you, I promise. This page exists to display the how-to video for this recipe which I exclusively created for my debut cookbook, Dinner. Every recipe in the cookbook has a tutorial video. To watch it, you simply scan the QR code with your phone or tablet and it will take you straight to the recipe video like the one shown above!...
Another great thing about this recipe is that you can use whatever vegetables you have on hand – and really load it up. Also, here are a few tips for making this recipe: These are the noodles I used – rice stick noodles. But this recipe is just as delicious made with egg or flour noodles, dried or fresh, except I wouldn’t recommend using vermicelli noodles as they are too thin for the punchy flavours of this soup....
Easy eggless, no sugar added, whole wheat banana muffin recipe. A perfect one for kid’s snack boxes or you can serve it at birthday parties too. I adapted the recipe from eggless banana walnut muffin from Raks Kitchen. I added plain flour and whole wheat flour and added jaggery powder instead of sugar. When I started my blog, I never know the basics of baking. I was planning to buy a baking oven and start to learn it....
Simple to make, sounds fancy, tastes fab. Home run! (Pssst – Excellent holiday side dish) Fondant Slow-Roasted Sweet Potatoes Stick the word “fondant” in front of “potato”, and suddenly your everyday spuds sound a whole lot fancier. But in reality, it’s just potatoes that have been slow-roasted with a little stock until they absorb the flavour. They become creamy and savoury on the inside, and golden caramelised on the outside....
Dal is a staple in Indian cuisine. We include this almost in our daily meal and it is one of the main sources of protein for vegetarians. We make different varieties of dal and this green moong one is one of our favorites. I pack this for kid’s lunch box or make this for dinner too. Everyone has their way of cooking this green gram sabzi. I too make it differently, but after tasting this dal in my friend’s place, almost a year back, I decided to make this that way since we all like that....
It’s my first birthday as a mommy! And to celebrate, I’m sharing a recipe that I ate all throughout my pregnancy: 5-ingredient oatmeal pancakes. I even froze several batches of these pancakes to eat after I delivered my babe. These healthy oatmeal banana pancakes are naturally sweetened, high in protein and fiber and their fluffy factor is on point. Yes, “fluffy factor” is a thing when it comes to pancakes....
A healthy vegetable soup made extra tasty. Do you know about the zero Weight Watchers Points cabbage soup? Essentially, all you do is put all the vegetables, broth/stock and a dollop of tomato paste into a pot, bring it to a boil then that’s it. I don’t even need to try it to know that it would be rather bland. I just couldn’t bring myself to make it. So I made up my own version....
If you have explored local food joints in the deep South of Tamilnadu, you can relate to this Idli dosai kurma. It is one of the popular gravy served for Idli | kurma along with watery chutney | thanni chutney. Food joints in Madurai, my home town, are very popular for this. I have tasted this in small eatery outlets. We even love this with poori too. Usually, they don’t add any vegetables in making this Thanni kurma....
If you’re wondering how to use up your ripe Roma tomatoes, this is the soup to make! It’s wonderful over my cumin-spiced rice or pea pulao and a side of sliced cucumbers. A fresh and light meal. For this soup, I use ripe Roma tomatoes. They’re sweet and hearty tomatoes with plenty of flesh – they give the soup body. If your tomatoes aren’t ripe, a bit of sugar helps counter any tartness....

Why make Fudge in an Instant Pot? The great thing about this instant pot chocolate fudge is that it’s essentially a pour and cook recipe. You’re just dumping ingredients together in a pot and mixing. There’s no microwaving at different intervals or standing by the stove necessary. How to make Fudge in an Instant Pot: First, we make sugar syrup: mix water and sugar and pressure cook. Easy! Add butter, chocolate chips, dry milk powder, vanilla extract, and mix it all up!...
Dozer, the last time you gave an interview was back in 2020. I feel privileged that you agreed to talk to me. It’s been quite a year for you! Photo shoots. In the newspaper. Book signings! TV! Did you ever imagine all this would happen to you? What’s a newspaper? Is that the stuff your fish and chips comes wrapped in? And wait – I was on TV? I didn’t know that!...

Korean Beef Bulgogi When I think about food trends in recent years, one of the cuisines that comes to mind straight away is Korean food. Legends like David Chang (of the world renowned Momofuku restaurants) and Roy Choi (LA Korean fusion food truck extraordinaire) have brought Korean food into the limelight. Whereas once you had to hunt to find great Korean restaurants in Sydney, now they are really common in the city and there are growing pockets throughout the suburbs with an increasing number of great Korean restaurants....
