Living in West Virginia has made me adventurous. If you told me a few years ago that I’d be willingly jumping into river water, hiking through mountains, and biking on trails, I’d tell you that you were certifiable. I was never an “outdoorsy” type of girl – I was more of a “let me get my hair, makeup, and nails done and go out clubbing” type of girl. Truthfully, I still love the hair/nails part, but now, I also don’t mind getting a little dirty. It’s more fun that way.

Whenever Roby and I have free time, we spend it exploring West Virginia and nearby, Pennsylvania. Before we embark on these fun days of exploration, we prepare by drinking an energizing and filling smoothie for breakfast. My go-to breakfast smoothie is simple: almond or cashew milk, avocado, greens (usually spinach), and a frozen ripe banana. I usually also add a smoothie booster: chia seeds, nut butter, cacao, goji berries, aloha powder, etc.

I definitely feel energized after drinking a green smoothie for breakfast. What do you eat/drink to keep you energized during workouts or before a long day?

It’s true, my morning smoothie really basic. If you want a fancier smoothie, try my mango chai smoothie or my creamy cashew cardamom smoothie 🙂 Paid Endorsement Disclosure: In order for me to support my blogging activities, I may receive monetary compensation or other types of remuneration for my endorsement, recommendation, testimonial and/or link to any products or services from this blog.
