Easy chole masala recipe without onion, garlic, and tomato, perfect side dish for chapati, poori, and bhatura. We usually make chole masala in an onion and tomato-based gravy. I have already posted a no onion no garlic version of channa masala with video. This is an easy chole masala without the addition of onion or tomato. My friends invited me for a get-together and poori and chole masala was on their menu. I totally loved the taste of the chole masala. As always I asked her for the recipe. This is a perfect bachelor and dorm friendly recipe, without any grinding process.  

Soak Kabuli channa for 7-8 hours or overnight.Pour enough water and pressure cook till 5-6 whistles.

In a pan add 4 tsp oil and add in the cumin seeds.Add in the store-bought chole masala to the pan.Saute for 2 minutes, ensure not to burn that.

Add in the cooked chole to the pan, do not drain the water.Grind 3 tblsp of cooked chole into a fine paste.

Add the ground paste to the pan. Mix well.

Slightly mash it using a masher. Add in the turmeric powder Let this boil for 5 minutes. Check for salt.Garnish with coriander leaves and thinly sliced ginger.
