I can’t believe it’s almost Easter! That means it’s time to make my instant pot holiday ham again and it also means it’s time to make a delicious soup using the ham bone. As much as we enjoy eating ham, I have to tell you – I love using up the ham bone even more. During the Christmas holiday, I shared this creamy ham and wild rice soup and it was a hit! This year, we’ll be enjoying classic split pea soup with ham: This simple split pea soup is made with a handful of ingredients but the star of the soup: the magical ham bone. You just toss everything into the pot and pressure cook. It couldn’t be easier to make! I highly suggest frying some diced ham in a sauté pan and adding it to the soup before you serve it. The caramelized pork makes this split pea soup a bit more decadent. Like this recipe? Pin it to your favorite Pinterest board now so you will remember to make it later!
