We have many varieties of pulao recipes in Jeyashris kitchen. Recently a friend shared fresh mint leaves from his home garden. This post is widely tried by many readers but I didn’t update the recipe with step by step pictures. So finally after a long due updated, pudina pulao| mint pulao recipe with new pictures and video.
Soak basmati rice in 2 cups water for 10 mins
Grind ¼ cup mint leaves, ¼ cup coriander leaves, few curry leaves, and 2 green chilies into a fine paste.
In a pressure cooker add ½ tbsp oil and 2 tsp gheeAdd 2 sliced onions and add a little salt.Saute till the onions become soft.
Add grind paste to the cooker.Saute for a minute.Add ¼ cup of green peas, if using. Mix well and add salt. Add 1 tsp of garam masala.
Add in the soaked rice along with the water.Mix well. Cover the cooker.Pressure cook for 2 whistles.Switch off. Once the pressure subsides, open the cooker.Gently mix the pulao, without mashing it.
Pudina pulao is ready.
