Though this is a cold drink, I think it’s the perfect wintertime beverage. It’s made with spices that warm the body: ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg. It’s also sweetened naturally, with a ripe banana and a few soaked medjool dates. You can enjoy this beverage for breakfast, though truthfully it tastes more like dessert. It’s sweet, spicy, different and delicious. The ingredients make for unique combination – it’s probably unlike most smoothies you’ve tried before. A tip for grating ginger – I keep peeled ginger in my freezer and the use a microplane to grate it right into the blender. It’s faster and easier than grating fresh ginger.
